The 1988 issue documents the shift towards the informatization of society: it analyzes the dynamics and methodology of information technologies, their social scenarios, and their impact on the foundations of management and the economy. A separate section is dedicated to the transformation of culture and behavioral regulations under the influence of scientific and technological progress, as well as the new organization of knowledge in systems where applied forms of knowledge change research practices. The concluding section rethinks the methodology of science using examples from quantum mechanics, geosystems theory, and synergetics.
